Phil McAndrew is an award-winning illustrator and cartoonist who has spent most of his life in Syracuse, NY. After being awarded the portfolio-based four-year visual art scholarship, he attended and graduated from Daemen College with a BFA in Illustration. At the age of 22 he won the 2006 Syracuse Press Club Professional Recognition Award for best art illustration. Phil is a founding member of Found Hat Press, a collective of talented young illustrators and cartoonists. He has self-published a number of mini comics, contributed to a handful of anthology books, and is currently attempting to write and draw his first graphic novel. Phil enjoys snowboarding, sandwiches, and adventures.
Phil has illustrated for King Magazine, Ani DiFranco/Righteous Babe Records, The Syracuse Post-Standard, Moo Cow Fan Club Magazine, The Wit's End Players, Daemen College, Set To Easy, Weather Graphics, and tons of unsigned bands.
Phil's comics have been published in You Ain't No Dancer volumes 1-3 (New Reliable Press), Terminal City, Serializer.net, Plotz #0 (Found Hat Press), Stick Figure Anthology (Found Hat Press), Life Meter #1, Almost Normal Comics & Other Oddities #2, The Ascent, and several issues of Sour Josephine. He helped color Frank Cammuso's first Knights of the Lunch Table graphic novel (Scholastic's Graphix imprint).
